Meet Mark Powell

It has been a privilege to serve as the District Attorney of Lackawanna County. Before being elected, I spent years building a rock-solid foundation in the private sector and became a board-certified trial specialist in both criminal and civil law. As District Attorney, I put those skills to work for you in the courtroom, classroom and community.

Since taking office, I am proud of the accomplishments that my office has made as District Attorney. None of it could be possible without the commitment of dedicated prosecutors, staff and law enforcement officers across the county. Through the process, I’ve had the pleasure of making friends from every municipality in the county. I listened and learned each time I visited a community event and then did my best to address folk’s concerns. I’ve obtained several million dollars of new Federal grant money and invested it in the county to combat the Opioid Crisis, gang violence, as well as implemented policies and procedures designed to professionalize the office. I am proud of our county, and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve.
